The Compton Veterans Stand Down is a three-day event providing supplies and services to all Veterans and their families, with emphasis on homeless veterans, at-risk, and down-trodden veterans. The provided supplies and services include, but not limited to

food (three meals daily; fruits and snacks throughout the weekend),

shelter,
-
clothing,
-
showers,
-
haircuts,
-
health screenings,
-
mental health assistance,
-
dental care,
-
optometrist care,
-
VA benefits counseling and claims, and
-
Social Security benefits counseling and claims.
Veterans also receive referrals to other assistance such as health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment, and mental health counseling.

The Compton Veterans Stand Down is a collaborative event, coordinated between the local VA Medical Centers, other government agencies and community-based service providers.
